Courtney grew up all around Texas. She eventually landed in Austin, where she attended the University of Texas at Austin. She switched majors from Government to Art, received a BFA in Studio Art, got married and had a daughter. The family packed up a nd moved to the east coast where Courtney now paints, teaches, loves the fall season and misses tex-mex.

She is currently working as a freelance artist taking commissions from the public, teaching art and geography at an after school elementary program and pursuing a career in children's books.
