With so many art directors, agents and editors AND a billion opportunities to connect with said professionals and your (amazingly talented and so friendly they never bite) peers it is a no lose situation.
Plus, they have some pretty amazing writers and illustrators on faculty such as Kelly Light, Tara Lazar, Ame Dykeman, Joyce Wan, Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen, Peter Brown (you might have heard of him) and did I mention the sheer amount of industry professionals?I had a tremendously difficult time choosing which workshops to attend because their are so many incredible choices with some extremely top notch talent.
I first attended this conference 2 years ago and had a blast and made some really great friends in the kidlit community. I highly recommend it.
So much that, I'm not only an attendee but I'm also presenting a watercolor workshop designed to help you loosen up, make a mess, inspire creativity and learn to embrace your mistakes. (I'm very good at the mess and mistakes part. 
)

I am just learning that SCBWI members can attend other Region’s conferences. Silly me. But I am so excited. I can’t do the NJ one this year due to scheduling, BUT I have it on my radar for next summer. Have fun and I will be there in spirit.
